Norman Diep is an Executive Vice President | Chief Credit & Underwriting Officer with the BCREM Capital Markets team, a leading national real estate capital advisory firm.

Mr. Diep has over twenty-years’ experience, underwriting and analyzing complex commercial real estate transactions. He is responsible for nationwide underwriting, placing, negotiating and closing debt & equity for multifamily and commercial loans. During Mr. Diep’s career, he has closed billions in financing representing hundreds of transactions.

Prior to joining BCREM, Mr. Diep held the position of Vice President | Chief Credit Officer with Sperry Van Ness | Better Capital Partners. This firm was the debt & equity capital markets division for Sperry Van Ness (SVN). Prior positions include: Senior Real Estate Analyst, Intervest Mortgage Corp., Senior Real Estate Analyst, Sterling Bank & Trust, Real Estate Analyst, GMAC Commercial Mortgage and Real Estate Analyst, Barry Slatt Mortgage Co.

Mr. Diep was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, where he lives with his wife and daughter. Mr. Diep received his BA in Business Administration from the University of California Santa Barbara.

He is a member of the Chinese American Real Estate Association (CAREA) and is active in his community and numerous charitable organizations.

Is the Corporate Broker of Record of Better Commercial Real Estate Mortgage, Inc. Prior to Better Commercial Real Estate Mortgage Inc., Mr. Weiss served as the Southern California Residential Asset Manager for Bank of America. Mr. Weiss also served as President of Rockland Financial from 1986 to 2008. At RF, Mr. Weiss oversaw a team of California based residential mortgage brokers, and handled lender relations. This was accomplished utilizing a platform of more than 60 national and California based residential lenders. Over a twenty-two (22) year period, Mr. Weiss grew RF into one of the more successful and profitable residential mortgage brokerage companies in California.

Mr. Weiss is original from New York. In his early years he studied Business, Marketing and Education at Bernard Baruch College, New York City Community College and New York Institute of Technology. Mr. Weiss is a licensed Broker under California’s Bureau of Real Estate, is an expert on residential real estate finance and is often asked to be a guest speaker at industry related associations and events. Mr. Weiss lives with his wife and children in Thousand Oaks, California.

As a Senior Vice President of New Business Development, Silvio J. Ferrari, Jr. markets the financial services of Better Commercial Real Estate Mortgage Inc. Mr. Ferrari also builds market position and develops close business relationships with commercial real estate investors, developers, CPA’s, attorneys, property managers and real estate sales/leasing brokers among others. He also oversees the firms nationwide referral fee and co-broker origination program.

Mr. Ferrari’s financial services background includes: serving as a Business Development Officer with the Bank of Commerce SBA Division.

Prior to joining Better Commercial Real Estate Mortgage, Inc., Mr. Ferrari served as a Senior Investment Advisor for Sperry Van Ness. He specialized in the sale of industrial and office property and has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience. Mr. Ferrari has completed over $1 billion in real estate related transactions and has been honored with the coveted Sperry Van Ness Achievers Award and joined the ranks of the 4400 Club.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Mr. Ferrari served as an independent commercial real estate broker providing buyer and owner representation to industrial, retail, multifamily, land and office property clients. He also served with developers such as Buzz Oates Real Estate and the D. Benvenuti Company in Sacramento, where his activities included leasing, sales, and pre-development of industrial, office and retail property.

Earlier experience includes: serving as marketing manager for the Robert Wood Company in the City of Industry, where he specialized in land acquisitions and land leases on or adjacent to, medical centers and hospitals. Mr. Ferrari developed medical office building marketing programs to physicians, which included limited partnership sales and medical office leasing.

Mr. Ferrari is a member of the Association of Commercial Real Estate and the National Association of Industrial Office Properties.

Ed Ptacek

Edward Ptacek is an Executive Vice President ("EVP") of Better Commercial Real Estate Mortgage Inc (“BCREM”), a leading national commercial real estate capital advisory firm.

Mr. Ptacek has over thirty years sourcing structured capital for both high net-worth and institutional clients. He utilizes an extensive network of over 3,000 nationwide capital sources. These sources fund all property types including: multi-family, retail, office, industrial, self-storage, hotel, land and ground up construction.

Mr. Ptacek specializes in nationwide ground up construction, permanent and bridge financing. He has arranged debt, preferred equity and joint venture equity structures, totaling billions during his career. His expertise includes underwriting and structuring commercial real estate investments, negotiating transactions and term sheets, financial modeling, market research, and evaluating business plans through the various stages of an investment cycle.

Mr. Ptacek is well qualified to provide expert opinions on real estate financing, feasibility, standards and practices and transaction matters. He has provided expert witness testimony in several dozen real estate litigation matters and has testified in Federal and State court numerous times.

Prior to joining BCREM, Mr. Ptacek held positions with George Smith Financial Services (George Smith Partners "GSP" predecessor company), which became the Grubb & Ellis Capital Markets Team. ARCS Commercial Mortgage (PNC Banks predecessor company), FINOVA Capital Corp, AMI Capital (a Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD lender), George Elkins Mortgage Banking | Life Company correspondent (Walker & Dunlap predecessor Company). Mr. Ptacek has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a two million square foot, nationwide retail portfolio.

Mr. Ptacek is also a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, MAI Candidate and has Appraisal Institute certificates in expert witness and litigation support. This specific area of expertise, has been invaluable to his clients and capital sources. Mr. Ptacek received his BA in Economics from Stanford University while lettering in football and rugby. He also received an MBA from the University of Southern California, as well as a Certificate in Appraisal from UCLA.

Mr. Ptacek is married and lives with his wife in San Diego County. He is also father to two boys and two girls. Mr. Ptacek is a community leader and is active in several charities inclusing work with the LA Free Clinic and Navy Reserves.
